How your comp plan works.
See how borrower-paid and lender-paid compensation work with JMAC, and request a plan change. The amounts live in your registered plan, not on this page.
Borrower-paid or lender-paid.
Each loan you broker is paid one of these two ways.
- Borrower-paid compensationThe borrower pays your compensation at closing. You set your borrower-paid amount loan by loan, within the limits your compliance policy allows.
- Set per transaction within your policy
- Disclosed to the borrower on the Loan Estimate
- Common on loans where seller or lender credits are in play
- Lender-paid compensationJMAC pays your compensation from the pricing on the loan. Your plan is registered with us and applies uniformly across qualifying transactions.
- Registered plan applied consistently
- Set at the company level, not per loan
- Changes take effect on a go-forward basis in your plan’s election window
What to know about your plan.
How election windows, limits and specialty products work, and what stays your responsibility.
- Plan election windowsLender-paid plan changes follow a defined election window rather than taking effect mid-pipeline. Your account executive will confirm the current window when you register or change a plan.
- Minimums and maximumsCompensation plans are bounded by a floor and a ceiling. Your registered plan documents the specific amounts, and none are published here.
- Second liens and specialty productsClosed-end seconds and certain specialty programs may be treated differently under your plan. Confirm treatment with your AE before you quote.
- Compliance is yours to ownYour compensation plan must comply with all applicable federal and state requirements, including Regulation Z loan originator compensation rules. JMAC does not provide legal or compliance advice.

Questions about comp plans.
Can I switch between borrower-paid and lender-paid?
Compensation is elected per transaction between borrower-paid and lender-paid, subject to your registered plan and your own compliance policy. Your lender-paid amount itself is set at the company level and changes only during a plan election window.
How do I register or change my comp plan with JMAC?
Your account executive provides the compensation plan registration form during onboarding. Completed forms are submitted to the broker approval department, and changes take effect according to the current election window.
Are compensation amounts published on this page?
No. Compensation amounts are specific to your registered plan and are documented in your plan paperwork rather than published on the website.
Does compensation differ by channel?
Yes. Wholesale broker compensation and non-delegated correspondent economics work differently. Your AE will walk through the structure for the channel you’re approved in.
